Five teens are facing criminal charges after police say they are connected to several vehicle break-ins and larcenies in Denver.

On June 30, authorities responded to the area of Across Field Court and Woodstream Drive, following up on numerous vehicle break-ins in the area, Sheriff’s Spokesman Rick Hensley said.

Sage Lawson Thomas Owings, 16, of 3631 Waterview Lane, Terrell, Thomas Tyler Matthews, 17, of 4951 Sagitarius Court, Denver, and Ryan Andrew Prescott, 18, of 68 Ormand Ave., Arden, are charged in connection with these crimes.

The teens were arrested on Woodstream Drive after a witness saw them running toward a nearby residence, Hensley said.

After a search of the residence, officers recovered all stolen items as well as items unaccounted for. The property has since been return to its owners.

The suspects have each been charged with five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, and possession of stolen goods, authorities said.

The have since been released from the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center each on $29,000 secured bonds.

On Saturday, Sheriff’s deputies responded to an unrelated vehicle break-in at 3468 Woodstream Drive. The victim told police that several items, including a tool belt, miscellaneous tools and tie-down straps, were taken from the his truck.

Hours later, deputies responded to Across Field Court and Field Haven Court, after several other vehicles were reported broken into, Hensley said.

Authorities have arrested Tyler Scott Good, 18, of 2423 N.C. 16 S., Newton, and James Louis McWilliams III, 19, of 3680 Lee Moore Road, Maiden, in connection with Saturday’s break-ins. The items, which were recovered from McWilliams’ Maiden address, have been returned to the owners.

Good and McWilliams were each charged with five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny and possession of stolen goods, authorities said. They are held at the detention center, each on $35,000 secured bonds.

In addition to the Denver break-ins, Good allegedly told authorities that he and McWilliams had broken into several vehicles in the area of Lee Moore Road on Friday, Hensley added.

Anyone who may be a victim of this crime, should call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 735-8202.
