Anticipation for this year’s camp meeting at Tuckers Grove Campground is growing.
Jerry Ross Jr., chair of the Tucker’s Grove Camp meeting board of trustees, was busy cleaning the campground last Wednesday afternoon.
“I thought I would come out and start to clean,” Ross said. “It has to be done and there are many things to do, such as take some branches down and pick up trash.”
Ross, has been coming to the meetings for 50 years and only lives a couple miles from the campground.
“The service at the arbor is my favorite part,” he said. “I like to come to thank the lord for another year.”
He also enjoys the fellowship.
“People come from a long distance away,” he said. “You get to see people that you have not seen since last camp meeting.”
The camp meeting starts Saturday at 7 p.m. and will feature singing and service.
