Denver Post 455 had some tough luck with the weather in the opening weekend of American Legion baseball action. On Saturday, Post 455 was leading Gastonia 12-10 in the 10th inning at Sims Legion Park when rain forced a suspension of the game. That game will be completed on June 7 at East Lincoln High School. Rain played a role again Sunday night as Denver’s game against Caldwell County was halted in the fourth inning with Caldwell ahead 4-2. Denver will try again tonight to get in a complete game, traveling to Charlotte’s Olympic High School to face Steele Creek.
