Denver rained out twice

Published May 26, 2003

Denver Post 455 had some tough luck with the weather in the opening weekend of American Legion baseball action.

On Saturday, Post 455 was leading Gastonia 12-10 in the 10th inning at Sims Legion Park when rain forced a suspension of the game. That game will be completed on June 7 at East Lincoln High School.

Rain played a role again Sunday night as Denver’s game against Caldwell County was halted in the fourth inning with Caldwell ahead 4-2.

Denver will try again tonight to get in a complete game, traveling to Charlotte’s Olympic High School to face Steele Creek.
