East Lincoln athletes of the year

Johnathan Tucker was named the male athlete of the year for the Mustangs. He excelled in track, football and wrestling.

Stephanie Edwards was named the female athlete of the year. She excelled in tennis, swimming and softball.

 

Post 455 postponements

Post 455’s game against Myers Park scheduled for this past Wednesday was postponed. A wet field was the reason and no make-up date  has been scheduled.

Their game against Pineville scheduled for Thursday was rained out as well. No make-up date has been scheduled.

Post 455’s game scheduled for tonight against Monroe has been postponed as well. The make-up date for that game is Monday June 16. The game will be a home game at 7 p.m.

 

All-conference for East Lincoln softball

The Big South 3A Conference announced its softball all-conference team. Six Mustangs were named to the squad.

Infielders Nakita Moore and Amanda Goodson each received a selection.

Outfielder Stephanie Edwards and pitcher Courtney Ewing joins them.

Catcher Nicole Shoemaker and utility player Stephanie Horne round out the selections from East.

 

Cherryville season ends with loss

Cherryville lost to North Moore 3-1 in the third round of the state 1A softball playoffs. The loss ended their season at 19-4.

The win sends North Moore to Raleigh as part of the final four in the state.

 

LCC hosts Gaston- Lincoln Western Club Tournament

The Gaston-Lincoln Western Club Four Ball Golf Tournament will be June 21-22 at Lincoln Country Club.

The format is two man best ball, and will be flighted after the first round.

Each team must pay $220 to participate. The fee includes golf, and beverages on the course.

There will be prizes for flight winners and runners-up. There will also be closest to the pin prizes on all par threes, and door prizes.
